Tradesman Software is an independent finder for UK trade job-management software. Pick your trade and team size and we rank the tools that genuinely fit, including the ones we'd happily send you to over any other.

Why this exists

Most "best software for trades" pages are affiliate link farms. They rank tools by commission rate, not by whether a plumber with three vans would actually benefit from them. A sole trader gets the same recommendation as a 50-person firm. That's useless.

We built this because picking the wrong job software costs tradespeople real money. Weeks of setup, migrating data, training the team, only to find it doesn't handle gas certificates properly or falls over when you're offline in a basement.

We rank by fit, not by who pays us. A tool built for sole traders shouldn't win for a 20-strong firm, and the other way round. The finder weighs team size first, then trade, then the features you actually need. The method is laid out in full on how we score.

How we make money (or don't)

We don't currently earn a commission from any tool listed here. If that ever changes, those links will be labelled clearly, and it will never change where a tool ranks.

Every capability mark and price on the site is an illustrative placeholder until we've checked it against each vendor's own current information, and it's flagged as such until then. We don't publish invented or implied reviews.

The finder scores every tool by the same method. Nothing is hand-tuned, nothing is special-cased. If a tool wins for your setup, that's because the numbers say so, not because anyone asked us to put it there.

Keeping it current

Features, pricing, and capabilities change. We update the database as we learn about changes from vendors, user reports, and our own research. If you spot something wrong or out of date, tell us and we'll fix it.
